Connect ChatGPT

Use the official VDClip flow in ChatGPT as soon as it appears in the gallery or connector list. Until then, add the MCP server through Developer Mode.

Before you start

Use the official VDClip flow in ChatGPT if it appears in the gallery or connector list. Until then, enable Developer Mode, add the custom MCP server, and sign in with a VDClip account. For third-party hosts, prefer OAuth. For your own automations, token auth with an API key also works. Open VDClip to create an account if needed.

Fallback: Developer Mode

1

Enable Developer Mode

In ChatGPT, open Settings and enable Developer Mode for connectors. This lets you add a custom MCP server.

2

Add a new connector

Go to Settings → Connectors and choose to add a connector. Select the option to add a custom or remote MCP server.

3

Paste the VDClip server URL

Name it VDClip and paste the server URL:

https://mcp.vdclip.com/mcp
4

Sign in with VDClip

ChatGPT opens a VDClip sign-in window. Log in with your VDClip account.

5

Approve permissions

VDClip shows a consent screen with exactly what the connector can do. Review it and choose Allow.

6

Start a conversation

The VDClip app is now available in ChatGPT. Try: “Create a video editing project in VDClip and open the editor.”
