Uploading Videos
Upload videos to VDClip from your device or use links from the internet to process your video content.
Upload Methods
Direct Upload
Upload videos directly from your device:
- Click “Upload Video” in the dashboard
- Select a file from your computer or device
- Monitor the upload progress
- Wait for the upload to complete
- Your video will appear in your media library
Upload Progress Indicator
During upload, you’ll see:
- Progress bar showing upload percentage
- Upload speed and estimated time remaining
- File information (name, size, format)
- Cancel option if needed
Warning: Don’t close the browser tab during upload. Large files may take several minutes to upload depending on your internet connection.
Supported Formats
VDClip supports the following video formats:
- MP4 (recommended)
- MOV
- AVI
- MKV
- WebM
- FLV
Video Limits
File Size Limits:
- Free plan: Up to 500 MB per video
- Pro plan: Up to 2 GB per video
- Enterprise plan: Up to 10 GB per video
Duration Limits:
- Free plan: Up to 10 minutes per video
- Pro plan: Up to 60 minutes per video
- Enterprise plan: Up to 4 hours per video
Resolution Limits:
- Maximum resolution: 4K (3840x2160)
- Recommended: 1080p (1920x1080) for best performance
Using Video Links
You can also process videos using links from the internet:
- Click “Add Video from Link”
- Paste the video URL
- Supported sources:
- YouTube
- Vimeo
- Direct video links (MP4, etc.)
- Click “Import”
- The video will be downloaded and added to your library
Link Requirements
- URL must be publicly accessible
- Video must be in a supported format
- Some platforms may require authentication
- Large files may take longer to process
Upload Process
During upload:
- Progress bar shows upload status
- You can continue working on other tasks
- Uploads resume automatically if interrupted
- Email notification when upload completes
Processing After Upload
Once uploaded, videos are automatically:
- Processed for playback
- Made available for editing
- Ready for AI features (clipping, captions)
- Added to your media library
Managing Uploads
- View upload history
- Cancel in-progress uploads
- Retry failed uploads
- Delete uploaded videos
Troubleshooting
Upload fails:
- Check file size and format
- Verify internet connection
- Try a different browser
- Contact support if issues persist
Slow upload:
- Check your internet speed
- Compress video before uploading
- Upload during off-peak hours
- Consider using video links for large files
Best Practices
- Use MP4 format for best compatibility
