Account Switching

VDClip lets you switch between your personal account and any team accounts you belong to. The account switcher is located at the bottom of the sidebar and provides instant access to all your accounts.

The Account Switcher

The sidebar shows your currently active account at the bottom. It displays:

  • Avatar: Your profile picture or team avatar
  • Name: Your name or the team name
  • Label: “Personal” or “Team” with the plan name

Click the account button to open the dropdown with all available accounts.

Click on your account button at the bottom of the sidebar. The dropdown shows all accounts you have access to.

2

3

Dashboard Updates Automatically

The dashboard immediately refreshes to show the selected account’s projects, media, credits, and settings.

What the Dropdown Contains

The account switcher dropdown provides access to several actions:

Account List

Your personal account and all team accounts with their names, avatars, and plan labels.

Create Team

When on a personal account, a “Create Team” option appears to start a new team.

Profile or Team Settings

Quick link to your personal profile (when personal) or team settings (when on a team).

Language, Theme, and Logout

Change your language, switch between light/dark theme, or log out of VDClip.

What Changes When You Switch

Each account has its own independent resources:

  • Projects and media: Each account has separate video projects and media libraries
  • Credits: Credit balance is per account (personal credits are separate from team credits)
  • Templates: Teams can have their own set of templates
  • Social accounts: Connected social media accounts are scoped to the active account
  • Calendar and posts: Scheduled posts belong to the account that created them
  • Plan and billing: Each account has its own subscription plan

  3. Click the Leave button (door icon) in the members list header
  4. Confirm in the dialog

You will be removed from the team and it will disappear from your account switcher.

Tips & Best Practices

Check Which Account is Active

Always verify which account is selected in the sidebar before starting work. The active account name and avatar are visible at the bottom of the sidebar.

Use Distinct Team Names

Give each team a unique, recognizable name so you can quickly identify the right one in the switcher.

Upload Team Avatars

Team pictures in the account switcher make it easier to distinguish between multiple teams at a glance.

Remember Account-Scoped Resources

Credits, projects, and social accounts are tied to the active account. Switching accounts changes what you see in the dashboard.
